It’s a rocket flight simulation game. You create your rocketships based on some real rocket science theories. The Flight simulation is really built on Physics based theories. You are trying to launch your rocketships successfully. If you miscalculate many things can go wrong. A small problem might not make anything major happen. If it’s a big problem then your Rocket ship can blow up in space. Using the Vehicle Assembly building and the Space Plane hangar you can get really creative when making your rocketship from a variety of objects. When you look in your rocket ship you will see you have full control over the ships set up. You will be able to keep an eye on your ships systems. It shows engine temperatures and fuel levels. These are all features to help you not have your rocketship explode. In the sandbox mode, you can use all the materials you want and as many Kerbals as you want. This is a creative mode. In the science mode you work on scientific experiments to advance the knowledge of the Kerbal people. You help increase the available technology.
You try to earn money in career mode. In addition, in career mode you manage all parts of the space program. You are in charge of all decisions including crew management, reputation and getting contracts to help earn the money. It’s a fairly realistic game. You can orbit and then attempt to point your rocketships to go to a specific planet or a moon. You can build your ships with multiple stages so that you can go further. You can dock spaceships together and create Space stations. You can create bases on other planets. You need to calculate this correctly in order to be successful. There are various mods available that will let you add new content and modify the game. There are many planets to explore with this game. Some of the planets within the Kerbol solar system are Moho, Eve, Kerbin, Duna, Dres, Jool and Eeloo. The sun is called Kerbol – appropriately. There are also Asteroids available to explore that orbit around Kerbol. They appear and disappear throughout the game.
The Kerbal Space Program is a fun and imaginative game. It is a game I would definitely recommend to explore. Keep an eye out for posts on more great Indie games you can find on Steam.
